My experience and passion for franchising led me to start the Franchise Story Podcast where we interview top-performing franchisees and the founders behind the brands they invest in. I started the Franchise Story Podcast to serve the franchise community— I figured if one listener can be empowered to make a change from listening to a guest’s story, it would be worth it.
Since recording our 100th episode, I’ll say this—
I’ve had a refreshingly honest conversation with the former CEO of Dunkin’ Donuts (Episode #67), where he gave honest advice about bridging the gap in the franchisor/franchisee relationship.
I’ve met with the CEO of Firehouse Subs (Episode #71) who showed me that customers chose you based on your values.
I’ve also spoken with some of the biggest names in the multi-unit world (Episode # 62) about how they’ve been able to scale the way they did.
I’ve heard the rags-to-riches stories, the keep fighting stories, and the stories passed down from family legacies.
Through all the business advice, the one realization that we all affirmed is this: the best thing about franchising is being in business for yourself, not by yourself.
Franchising is all about self-ownership, entrepreneurship in its highest form. It’s also about community. Franchising has become my life and my community— all of my closest friends are fellow franchisees. I’ve learned as much if not more from the people in my franchisee community than I have learned from my franchisor. Boiled down, the help that I’ve received from other franchisees has taken me from struggling to success.
